In the heart of Store Kongensgade in inner Copenhagen, sits Tableau, a floral design studio home to innovative designs and creations all brought to life by Julius Værnes Iversen. A floral designer, his work centers around exotic installations both large and small. Showcasing flowers in a unique and new way, his pieces range from the exaggerated and dramatic to the simple and reserved.
Tableau’s name originates from the French “tableau”, which is another word for an artistic scene. So it stands to reason that it would function as a multidisciplinary design, art, and flower studio while also doubling as an art gallery, hosting exhibits with collaborative and highly-curated artists. Focusing on these varying but complementary disciplines allows them to blend together in a beautiful collection presenting as a cohesive shop and gallery, with floral designs on display just like pieces of art.
Julius produces his own indoor plants in the studio as well as producing new and innovative objects and vases for flowers and plants. Working with the balance of natural materials and the softness of flowers, Julius’ work is an update on the classic florist and his exceptional concepts are found at both major events and in his clients’ homes. As works of craftsmanship, his blooms are pieces of contemporary art, multicolored layers of expression and beauty.
