Clean lines, straightforward forms, and simplicity in color, shapes, and materials characterize the furniture pieces of C/RO Copenhagen. The creative mind behind the brand is architect, designer, and owner of Rosén Concept ApS—a studio specializing in concept development, space planning, and interior design—Camilla Rosén. Feeling the need to create something personal after all her experience in realizing customers’ ideas, Camilla launched her own indoor and outdoor furniture designs in 2016.
Having always had a love for the characteristics of materials, design, and art, and growing up surrounded by fantastic designers and brands, she has an excellent eye for design, quality, and details. “Always quality over quantity,” is her motto.
Creating minimalist, simple, and elegant pieces, Camille combines a modern way of living with the Scandinavian design language. Sustainable materials make for high-quality, timeless furniture pieces that are sober and elegant. A C/RO design is defined by thin lines, generous shapes, and a luxurious look. For her designs, Camille is inspired by travel, architecture, and design icons.
Besides looking up to pioneers of functionalism like Eileen Gray, Coco Chanel, Picasso, and the iconic Le Corbusier, the designer also takes inspiration from fashion. “The collection contains additional accessories so that you can dress furniture and complement, so they fit comfortably inside or outside, just as we humans do,” she says.
Living in an age where climate change is such a big subject and issue, the studio believes in “environmentally-friendly designs which will last in quality and functionality.” Therefore, all the pieces are handmade of recycled steel. C/RO aims to bring you closer to nature with items for both indoor and outdoor use. “I strive for a more simple lifestyle, being surrounded only with the most necessary items, living in line with nature, and having more time to enjoy life,” the designer explains.
